SQL 설치를 완료하였다면 CU를 설치할 차례입니다.

먼저, 아래 사이트를 통해 CU10 버전을 다운로드 받습니다.

다운로드가 완료되면 설치 파일을 통해 설치를 시작합니다.

1) SQL Server 2012 업데이트 탭에서 '다음' 버튼을 클릭합니다.

2) 사용 조건 탭에서 '동의함' 버튼을 클릭합니다.

3) 기능 선택 탭에서 '다음' 버튼을 클릭합니다.

4) 사용 중인 파일 검사 탭에서 '다음' 버튼을 클릭합니다.

5) 업데이트 준비 탬에서 업데이트가 진행되는 내역을 확인한 후 '다음' 버튼을 클릭합니다.

6) 업데이트 진행률에서 업데이트가 진행됩니다.

7) 업데이트가 완료되면 '닫기' 버튼을 클릭하여 업데이트를 종료합니다.

아래 내용은 일반적인 SCVMM 2012 R2을 설치하는 방법으로 테스트나 PoC 등에서는 사용이 가능할 듯합니다.

특히 SCVMM 2012 R2는 설계에 따라 확장할 수 있는데,

여기에서는 1개의 VM으로 구성된 SCVMM 2012 R2가 모든 역할을 수행하며 원격의 SQL 서버를 활용합니다.

(물론 SQL 서버도 VM으로 구성되어 있습니다)

즉, 2개의 VM을 통해 SCVMM 2012 R2를 설치 및 구성해보겠습니다.

모든 서버에는 Windows Server 2012 R2가 설치되어 있으며, 서버 이름 및 역할을 다음과 같습니다.

TI-DB01: SQL Server 2012 SP1

TI-VMM01: System Center 2012 R2

위와 같이 VM의 생성이 완료되었다면 계속 설치 준비 작업을 진행합니다.

준비 작업은 아래와 같습니다.

1. Windows Server 2012 R2 설치 및 업데이트

2. Domain 가입

3. AD 계정 생성 및 필요한 권한 계정 Local Administrators 그룹에 추가

추가로, AD 계정은 다음과 같이 생성하였습니다.

도메인\sqlsvc: SQL service account

도메인\vmmhostadmin: 호스트 관리를 위한 계정

도메인\vmmadmin: SCVMM Service Account account

시스템 환경을 구축하기 위해 제일 먼저 SCVMM 2012 R2를 설치하고,

bare metal deployment를 통해 호스트에 OS 설치를 진행하려고 합니다.

따라서, 먼저 SCVMM 2012 R2f를 구축해야 하는데,

시스템을 구축하기 전에 Requirements을 확인하는 것이 좋습니다.

SCVMM 2012 R2 Requirements만 정리해보면 다음과 같습니다.

• For testing purposes only, one SQL Database Engine Services instance may be used for all components, but is not recommended in a production setting due to performance concerns.

• Reporting Services instances cannot be shared between System Center components.

• SQL_* collations are being deprecated for their Windows equivalents.

• Limit the memory of each SQL Server instance such that the Total Memory setting allows a minimum of 1 GB (2GB preferred) of free memory after all services are running.

• System Center components requiring the most disk resources are Service Manager, Operations Manager and Configuration Manager.

• Disks used should be formatted to a 64K allocation unit size.

• Disks used should be configured to allow 20% free space after all calculations for monitoring. Set growth upper limits to not exceed this space limit.
